What It Does
The scheme can compensate landlords and tenants if a member misappropriates their client money, subject to its rules.
What It Is Not
It does not handle everyday complaints, and it is not tenancy deposit protection.

Independent Redress
Property Shop is a member of The Property Ombudsman (TPO). You can access its independent redress service.
What It Does
TPO provides a free, impartial service for unresolved disputes between consumers and property businesses.
How to Use It
Complain to us first. You can refer an unresolved complaint to TPO within 12 months of our final response.
What It Is Not
TPO handles complaints. It does not hold deposits or provide client money protection.
Tenancy Deposit Protection
Where a tenancy deposit must be protected, we use the Deposit Protection Service (DPS).
What It Does
DPS is a government-authorised scheme that protects tenancy deposits where protection applies.
Deposit Disputes
If the deposit cannot be agreed at the end of a tenancy, the scheme's dispute resolution service can help.
What It Is Not
DPS is not our client money protection provider. That is Client Money Protect.
